Three pairs of eyes — As I look into the mirror …
Stare back at me;
Two of which I hold so much dearer …
One is mine;
One is blue;
And, one is an altogether unknown hue.
And in these eyes…
I see myself … I see the depths of —
All the things I can’t disguise
They are my soul,
My life; My world in whole.
Often I have failed,
All that I love –
These endless thoughts do prevail.
I count the ways,
I’ve made mistakes …
Yet these eyes adore,
They raise the stakes …
My clearest blue,
My unknown hue …
I hold you high,
You are my glue.
And though I drift –
You light the way
Your souls … In my head …
The brightest gift; at break of day.
I am you, and you are me;
The only reason I see the sun.
In the darkness of this selfish sea.
Pray forgive my faults,
I’ve more than a few –
But it will be your eyes I hold onto
When my time; my season ends.
My sweetest blue,
My deepest hue.
